Sebastian (or I hope I remembered his name right!!!)

I was sitting at the park Plane Spotting, trying to get an image with the new Sigma 100-440(way cool zoom), when Sebastian came tumbling out his peoples truck and Barked and Waved his hello to me. All he wanted to do was run around and play ball. He sure is a good looking guy, though I am not sure what he is!

It turns out his people were going to the local Brewery for a tour and a taste and wanted that furry bundle to run a bit before hand.

Now this dogs one smart cookie. When his man threw the ball too far, this great furry beast started to to go after it. But stopped dead in his tracks and turned back to his guy with a WTF look in his eye!

Well, I am still new to this lens and trying to understand its ways. These images could be better(Sharper). If you wanna set up a time for a more formal shoot, let me know!

A wonderful thing happened to me Yesterday!

First a little back story:

I was going through some of my parents things with the Runtyun and she found this old Photo of my Grandparents, her Great-grandparents. It was taken at a retreat they went to for summer vacation. This was when even working class families could afford a week off in the summer for vacation in an “exotic” place. In this case, they went to Stinson Lake, in New Hampshire(Google: Stinson Lake, Rumney, NH).

I am sure that other pictures are around which show My Grandparents, but we found this one and I decided to see what I could do for it. I was able to produce a digital image and with the help of Photoshop, I cleaned it up a little.

About that time, my Mother had to go to the hospital and eventually we have made arrangements for her to stay at the VA Rehab Center in Black Mountain until we can bring her home. Of course Christmas is coming, so a light went off in my dim little brain; A present from the family for my mother.

I have been doing business with Brandy at Frame It: https://www.frameitasheville.net, for a bit and really like her work. While I can take a pretty decent image, I have no real artistic ability. I can walk in and show her a photo I want framed, or matted and she makes my picture look even better.

This is the original photo.

Then I reshot it and played a little in PS.
Aw the magic of digital photos. I was able to get rid of that crease in the upper left and increase the contrast a little.

And this is what Brandy did for me.

Not only did her matting and choice of frame enhance the image, but her price is really reasonable!

Finally, because I know everyone out there really wants to know what my studio looks like:

Opps almost forgot to post this beauty. More from the V.A. car show Part 4

I did not have a chance to talk to, or even meet the owner of this fun little car,

but I imagine she must be really fun to go on a picnic with!

Go on and scroll down for more images from the car show!

Playing in the rafters

I was fooling' around in my basement "studio" last night, when I saw this guy on the vent.

One from this morning. Turkeys of all kinds wonder on this golf course

The truth is I wanted to gat a picture of a great blue heron this morning. It was not there. these guys fowled it though. (See what I did there?)

I had a girlfriend, way back in the day, we would drive around  in her fathers Karmann Ghia. Oh those were the days!

I don't know much about the inner workings of them, but a carb for each cylinder? Sounds high performance to me.

Hmm pretty.

Nice car!

Nice lady.

Nice engine.

I'll bet this is one fun vehicle to drive!

His.

Can you say "Attitude?"

It looks like a MatchBox car on steroids!

There were so many great cars at this show. I could not do justice so many of them because they were packed together so tightly. I shot a whole bunch more though, but me and my camera are kinda new at this. So if

If I missed your car, contact me and maybe we can work something out.

Thanks for looking at these images. Please leave  comment and let me know what you think.

More from the V.A. car show Part 2

Some time you get to see stuff maybe you shouldn't.

I really like the look of the Rat Rods!

I bet this thing is as fast as lit looks!

 CLASSIC
I don't usually do black and white, but this one seemed to work.

This car has a long history on the track. The owner tells me it still races. And the sound of that POWER plant!

I think this is the view of most cars racing this beast!

This was hanging from the mirror. Hope he waited until after the race!

International Harvester (Gypsy Van if you asked me!)Bet this house on wheels has some stories to tell.

Betchya, This old thing has some stories to tell!

What WHAT?

                                                                           An old Jeep

I think the M-1 Stock as a hood holder is great.

View from the top. The meticulous details really make a statement.

This one has attitude!

How would you like to see this in your mirror?

He said, "Watch out mister, I'm comin' through!"

 The saw blade!

It is kinda ironic that one has to clear cut all that rust!

Beautiful

You might think that green is dull for car, But when it is shiny and perfect...

Fast like a greyhound.

There are more coming!

V.A. Hospital Car Show on November 4th 2017 Part One

I was at the VA hospital a while ago and learned about the car show they host on the 4th. Well, as any one who has spent any time looking at this blog, I like car shows!

I went, camera in hand. For the camera nerds out there I used my Canon 70D with the Canon 24-105 zoom. This is a good combination of lens and camera. The body is good because of its image quality and higher ISO abilities. While the lens has just about the perfect zoom range and F-stop ability. In other words, I can take great pictures with it.

The people who display their cars at these shows are the greatest. They have great cars and want to show them off. So, enough about talking about the show and let’s get down to seeing a few of these fantastic representations of the Go-Power man has made, let’s look at what was being displayed.

I had a very nice conversation with Mr. Greenwald. He gave me a brief history of this beautiful car. I hope these few images do it justice.
Packard had such great hood ornaments!

Even by todays standards this looks luxurious.

Aw, just look at the beauty of the Automobile!

And then we have one of these little beauties!

I did not get to spend any time with this Triumph, but I sure would like to!!

This one has nothing to do with photography

I’m gonna put my self out there and ask a question. A tough question that we all need to look into. This one is to those who knew me in the bad old days. Yeah, those days when I was arrested for beating the mother of my daughter. Yeah those days when I was doing drugs that were illegal. Yeah those days when I crashed my bike going to work when I was too fucked up to do anything but do more drugs.

I have a military background. I like to wear Cami IUBs and boots. I am fascinated by all things military, guns, stealth, Patriotism.

DO YOU TRUST ME TO BUY AND CARRY A GUN OF ANY SORT?

Because I CAN! I can get a weapon, the same as the idiot in Las Vegas. Just like the stooge from Sutherland Springs, Dallas.

DO YoU TRUST A SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS SOME ONE LIKE ME to purchase guns like that?

THINK.
Please think about it.

Think hard, because our safety and the integrity of our WONDERFUL country NEED you to understand the consequences of your thought…

I am Neil M. Turner. I Lived in Atlanta, GA.

Think hard, you advocates of no kind of Gun Control.

Car show at Charles George VA Medical Center

To all of my friends from the car show yesterday, I am processing(Developing) your images as we speak. There were so many awesome vehicles that the shear volume of images is huge!

I'll get them up ASAP

Thanks for your patience.

The Tractor and Engine Show---Finally!!!

Last week the Ag Center had a Tractor and Engine show and I spent a minute there trying out my new camera. Have a look and leave a comment!

Hears to the Vets!

While this particular tractor served in the Continental U.S.A, can you imagine a soldier, with his M14 strapped over his shoulder clearing a landing field or base?

A single spring---must have been a bouncy ride.

 Original M-H 1932!

No field stands a chance against this powerhouse!

Farmall- Powerhouse

Sitting on this must be a powerful feeling!

Red and his creation! Spend a minute and really look at this thing.

A mechanical scorpion, or a tower of Lawn Mowers?
You choose.

A baby for halloween-BMW and Dodge Ram. Who's the daddy?

What goes in the bin?

And now for something a little different!

That Scorpion really does run!

Ford Tractor. It really comes like this. Not much will stop this thing!

I shot a number of other tractors, but my skill behind the camera needs to equal the tool I use.
I hope you enjoyed these images. I know I met some really good people with unique stories and unique machines. I look forward to next year!
